The story
In Amazigh weaving the triangle stands for protection and fertility, the strength of the women who keep a family alive. Here the triangles repeat row after row in dark brown, golden ochre and soft pink, so the whole piece works as a shield.
Every row is a wish for the people who live with it: safety, abundance and life. The tassels at the top corners show it was made to be hung, so it can lie on a floor or watch over a wall.
Certificate of Provenance
This carpet, Shield, was made entirely by hand and is entered in the Aeternus register in perpetuity.
